Modules

Clients, Work and Docs are always on. Four more areas are Modules: you switch them on when the business needs them, and they stay out of the way until then.

Switching a Module on

SettingsModules

Turn on the switch next to the Module. Only the Founder sees this page.

Turning a Module on:

  • adds it to the sidebar
  • gives the Founder role its permissions
  • adds its Skill templates, switched off, so nothing runs until you choose

Turning a Module off hides its pages and permissions and pauses its Skills. Your data is kept, so switching it back on picks up where you left off.

Industry Packs, on the same page, switch on a set of Modules for your kind of business and add starter Scorecard numbers, templates and Skills. Anything you already have with the same name is left alone.

Who can open a Module

Each Module has a role permission: manage_cadence, manage_money, manage_people and manage_ops. The Founder has them all; give them to other roles in Settings > Roles. Two exceptions:

  • People can be read by every member, but cost and pay are shown only to people with manage_people.
  • Cadence adds view_scorecard, so you can choose who sees the numbers separately from who runs the meeting.

Getting the most out of Modules

  • Start with one. Switch on the Module that fixes today's biggest pain (late payments: Money; meetings that drift: Cadence), use it for two weeks, then add the next.
  • Let them feed each other. Money's cash collected and amount overdue can be Scorecard numbers in Cadence. People's time entries record cost against Projects. Your GST registration is entered once and used by both Money and Ops.
  • Ask Chat. Each Module has Chat tools: "What's overdue in receivables?", "Show this week's Scorecard", "Who is on leave next week?", "Which compliance deadlines are due this month?"
  • Nothing reaches a client without you. Invoices, payment reminders, onboarding and new Issues proposed by Chat arrive as requests for you to approve. A Standing Grant never skips approval for Money.
