Money

Money covers invoicing and collection: GST invoices, payments, receivables ageing and payment reminders.

First, Money settings

MoneyMoney settings

Fill in each tab once: GST registration, Payment details, Invoice numbers and Reminders.

  • GST registration: your GSTIN and state, printed on every invoice. It's the same registration the Ops compliance calendar uses, so you enter it once. Without a GSTIN, invoices can only use 0% GST.
  • Payment details: account holder, bank, account number, IFSC and UPI ID, printed on each invoice so clients know where to pay.
  • Invoice numbers: your prefix (such as INV or ACME-S), separator, number of digits, and whether to include the financial year, for example INV/2026-27/0007. With the year included, numbering restarts at 1 every April. Use Start at to continue from your old tool. A number is never reused, and invoices you already issued keep theirs.
  • Reminders: whether to draft overdue reminders automatically, the days between reminders for the same invoice, and the most to draft per day.

Raise an invoice

MoneyNew invoice

Pick the client, issue and due dates, and add lines: description, quantity, unit price, discount and GST rate (0, 5, 12, 18 or 28%).

GST is worked out for you. If the client is in your state you get CGST + SGST; otherwise IGST. Place of supply comes from the client's GST state or GSTIN, and you can override it. Invoices in other currencies carry no GST.

The invoice gets its number when you issue it and starts as a Draft. From there it moves through Sent, Partially paid and Paid. Void cancels it but keeps the number, so your series has no gaps.

Send it

Click Send, pick a client contact with an email, and it goes from your connected Gmail with the PDF attached and a link to view it. Connect Gmail on the Integrations page first.

Record payments

Record each payment with its amount, date, method (bank transfer, UPI, card, cheque, other) and a reference. Part-payments are fine: the status updates itself. You can correct or delete a payment you entered by mistake.

Find an invoice

Above the list, filter by client and date range, and search by invoice number or client.

Receivables

The strip at the top shows what's outstanding, aged by due date: Current, 1-30, 31-60, 61-90 and 90+ days. Click a bucket to see the invoices behind it, and Remind to draft a reminder for one that's late.

When reminders are on, dpaperwork checks every day and drafts a reminder for each overdue invoice: from 1 day after the due date, then no more often than your chosen gap. Every reminder waits for your approval before it's sent.

Getting the best out of Money

  • Set the due date on every invoice. Ageing and reminders run on it.
  • Record payments the day they land, so reminders never chase a client who has already paid.
  • Turn on reminders and approve them from your queue. Polite, regular reminders are the cheapest way to get paid faster.
  • Put cash on your Scorecard. In Cadence, add calculated numbers for Cash collected and Amount overdue.
  • Ask Chat: "Who owes us more than 30 days?", "Draft an invoice for Acme for October's retainer", "Record ₹1,20,000 received from Acme by UPI". Chat prepares it; you approve.
